OceanSafe™ is more than a quality mark for sustainable production and products, and it is more than just an improvement.
It stands for a paradigm change, implemented as one of the first companies in our trade worldwide. OceanSafe™ has been awarded the German Sustainability Award Design 2021.
The collection consists of 2 elements. On the one hand of organic cotton and on the other hand of 100% compostable synthetic fibre.

ORIGIN OF
ORGANIC COTTON
Organic cotton, the basic product for the NatureProtect collection, is processed where it is harvested. In the proximity of a plantation, from which Cleopatra is said to have have harvested cotton already more than 2,000 years ago. She knew about the importance of quality and sustainable ecological management.
For the world‘s best yarns people had to be in harmony with nature whether it be elegant clothing, sun protection, seat cushions, bags or sails.
In addition to the organic cotton yarns, newly developed polyester yarns are used for the fine finishing of the designs and the soft touch. These are also produced in an absolutely environmentally friendly manner, free from toxic substances, and can be disposed of completely without residues.

COLLECTION
All products of the NatureProtect collection by JAB ANSTOETZ are 100% compostable – whether made of natural and/or compostable synthetic fibres.
For a perfect end product in accordance with the OceanSafe™ technology, the processing with appropriate sewing threads and curtain tapes is recommended, which we also offer in the programme. The consumer enjoys their aesthetics and longevity and at the same time they can be sure to have a recyclable product that can be returned to the biological cycle without residues. They can also be certain of using a product that does not contain or cause any harmful substances. The returned products are transformed into natural materials through industrial composting: nutrient and biogas.
This creates a living recycling economy – learned and copied from nature. Only products that stand for it, correspond to the OceanSafe™ technology. Due to the label requirements, it is also ensured that the entire NatureProtect collection has at least a certification according to Cradle to Cradle Gold.
